About Us
Kia ora,
My name’s Jacqui Morgan and I’m a qualified Speech, Language and Feeding Therapist, and the founder of Food Ease. I'm from Aotearoa/New Zealand, currently based in Queenstown :)
Feeding therapy is a huge passion area of mine, mostly because it’s a substantial gap in services here in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Working as a Speech Language Therapist supporting kids with communication difficulties, I often found on visits with whānau/families I would ask “is there anything else on top that you’re finding difficult?” and it felt like every other visit the answer was about picky eating and mealtime stress. The wild thing about this was how isolated these families felt! I would find myself offering support and reassurance - “you’re not alone! I’ve had 5 other families tell me the same thing just this week. Mealtimes are hard. Have you ever considered getting some feeding therapy?”. Most people had no idea feeding therapy existed or that this was something they could get specific support for! That’s part of my mission with Food Ease - to make sure families don’t feel so alone as they go through mealtime meltdowns, and to spread awareness that support is available.
I started Food Ease to fill the gap for families struggling with mealtimes, but realised quickly that direct 1-1 therapy isn't the best fit option for lots of families. That's why I began creating resources alongside seeing clients. I wanted there to be affordable, accessible, evidence-based resources so families could reap the benefits of feeding therapy at home!
We've taken all the thinking out of helping your picky eater, and that's what I'm most proud of. Parents have enough on their plates (and brains) and needed resources that were effective without requiring more thinking! Food Ease's resources do just that. We're on a mission to make mealtimes joyful again for everyone who needs it!
No matter where you’re at on your journey, or what’s going on for you, I’m certain you’re doing better than you think you are! If you’re feeling fed up and at the end of your tether, then please have a wee look at our resources, or get in touch for some support.
Keep on keepin’ on,
Jacqui x
